You may also find a place to use your gifts by looking at our volunteer "Positions". When you log in, you will be able to see all the groups you are participating in, see the events you might be interested in and much more. You may wish to take a moment to update your profile information by clicking on the 'Your Profile' link in the upper right hand corner to make sure that our records are correct. Also, be sure to fill in some of the "fun" information like the activities you enjoy, the music styles you prefer, your favorite radio station, and more, so that others can get to know you better. We hope you enjoy the online community! If you need any help please call the church office at 651-437-4398 or send an email to office@hastingsumc.orgWhat Do I DO?

Generosity Seminar for Church Leaders
November 6th from 8:30 - Noon at Hastings United Methodist Church 615 West 15th Street Hastings Mn 55033
Stewardship and finance in your church can be very different next year and the years after if you begin thinking and behaving differently right now. More than perhaps ever before our congregational vision, leadership behaviors, discipleship, and communication practices impact congregational giving. We live in anxious times. Our world has changed, dramatically. Most churches are still operating as if next year was going to be 1959 or 1994 in terms of stability in giving. Your congregation will benefit by shifting your focus from giving in order to pay your bills, to generosity that honors God. Challenges related to money are not so much problems to be solved as they are symptoms of deeper issues in the congregation.
Invest the morning with your congregation's core leaders and begin altering the trajectory of generosity and stewardship in your congregation the next day. The seminar is fast paced and filled with practical ideas and action steps to help your congregation right now. Following the seminar, you are invited to join John at an area restaurant (meal is on your own) for additional conversation around the topics of the seminar.
Registration Fee: $25. per person, maximum of $75. per congregation. Bring your Leadership Team. Register on the church website; www.hastingsumc.org; or by mail to the church address below. Make checks out to Hastings United Methodist Church, and note Generosity Seminar in the memo line.
